Let’s take it outside! Creating an outdoor classroom.
Join other parents, teachers, and students on Saturday, September 28th from 9:00-2:00 to help us create an outdoor classroom in our new native plants meadow. Sign up using the school name & zip code (19128) at: http://service.mygreenapple.org/page/event/detail/4jvp3
Come mulch and weed and learn more about Cook-Wissahickon’s Green efforts and education. Hopefully, everyone’s seen the new 10,000 square foot native plants meadow/outdoor classroom installed near the front of the school. Join us as we kick off this year in a morning of educational and interactive activities related to the importance of native ecosystems, which provide a defense against storm water run-off. Several of our community partners will participate to provide educational and hands on activities to highlight these relationships. We are also looking for people to mulch & weed that day. We will have a specific area for recycling. Please bring newspapers and items to be recycled through Terra Cycle. Middle-school teachers Diane Powers and Jose Ramos are coordinating this second annual Green Apple Day of Service for Cook-Wissahickon.
