March Weather Report-Updated

We have some great news to report in our March 2014 Newsletter on community achievements, March events (*Picture Day is March 21*), and previews of what will come in April.

NEW WEATHER STATION  We were successful in fundraising for our new WeatherBug Weather Station to enhance our middle years science program–and its installation was covered in a recent article in the Roxborough Patch.  The new WeatherBug weather station includes a high-definition camera, lightning sensor and web-based educational software tools. The weather station will be able to provide weather data for meteorological teams and broadcast online and on-air and will enhance Cook-Wissahickon’s science, technology and math school curriculum.

HORSHAM OUTDOOR SCHOOL TRIP Our fourth-graders will take a two-night overnight trip to the Horsham Outdoor School at the College Settlement Camp in Horsham this month to learn about environmental science (and have a great time around the campfire, as well).
