Enjoy: Presenters will be on hand with a lot of fun kid- (and adult!) friendly educational activities. Presenters and donors include Friends of the Wissahickon, Philadelphia Water Department, Fairmount Water Works, the Franklin Institute, Mom’s Clean Air Force, and the Morris Arboretum.
Additionally, Watershed Church of Roxborough/Manayunk has generously donated light fare and drinks for the event.
Learn: As we move forward with our landscaping plan for Cook-Wissahickon’s campus, our next phase will be greening the schoolyard. The 2015 Green Apple Day of Service will focus on the benefits of de-paving concrete and asphalt surfaces, which include fostering better water absorption, filtering pollutants, and reducing our heat index.
Give Back: Everyone who would like to participate will have an opportunity to help. We’ll be planting seeds, gardening, and sprucing up the campus.
