December at CW

We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break! Here’s a look at some of the exciting things going on at Cook-Wissahickon in December:

Friday, 12/1: Science Fair
Friday, 12/1: LuLaRoe Fundraiser: The LuLaRoe bus will be in the schoolyard from 3:30-5:30pm
Thursday, 12/7: Night of the Arts at CW from 6:00-7:00pm in the gymnasium. K-5 students will perform various songs, skits, dances and more, highlighting the wonderful arts programs. Kindergarten, first, and third grades will drum along to the music while keeping physically fit. First and second grade will perform a dance. Fourth grade will show off their robots and our fifth grade will perform an original snow skit. The show will conclude with a performance by the middle school bucket drumming ensemble and the little Trebles and Crescendos chorus. Doors open at 5:45 and students should report to the recess doors at that time for to sign in. Mr. D is requesting help from parents to assist with concessions, monitoring children in classrooms, and to serve as ushers. (Note: Parents who volunteer will be able to watch their child perform!)
Friday, 12/8: Half day with dismissal at 12:24
Saturday, 12/9: Flapjack Fundraiser for Choir from 8:00-10:00am at Andorra Applebee’s. All are welcome. Buy tickets with this order form.
12/9-12/17: Shop at Five Below and support the CW Choir. Bring this FiveBelowFundraiser form!
12/11-12/15: Music Man Jr. Auditions after school from 3:25-4:25pm
12/11-12:15: Holiday Shop
At our annual fundraiser, students will have a chance to shop for gifts for their family and friends. The kids love this annual event, but to make it a success we need volunteers like you to help keep our shop running smoothly. You’ll work the cash registers and assist our students with purchasing items from their shopping lists. Thank you to anyone who is able to contribute their time!
CANCELED: Thursday, 12/14: Home & School Meeting at 5:00pm in the library.
Friday, 12/15: Last day to donate—the fifth grade class is leading a school-wide Food Drive for North Light Community Center.
Wednesday, 12/20: Wissahickon Sustainability Council Meeting at 4:30pm in library.
