Annual Cook-Wissahickon 5K

The 6th Annual Cook-Wissahickon 5K!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the 6th Annual Cook-Wissahickon 5K on April 7. Despite some crazy weather predictions for snow, it turned out to be a great day with decent running weather! Thanks to all of the runners, walkers, and volunteers, it was a great event! We’re also very grateful to all of our sponsors—this event would not be possible without their support. The 2018 Cook-Wissahickon Run for Sustainability helped raise funds for the Wissahickon Sustainability Council (WSC). Informally known as Cook-Wissahickon’s Green Committee, the WSC is a 501(c)(3) organization created with the purpose of transforming the school and grounds into an environmentally friendly and more sustainable campus. The next project for the group is depaving and redesigning the main schoolyard to manage stormwater as well as create a beautiful, dynamic, sustainable park and play area for the entire community. Stay tuned for details on our next event!
