Fun Friday News
Beginning this month, students will earn points for coming to school every day and demonstrating good listening skills in the classroom! Students who come to school every day will earn 10 points toward their 20 point total. Students rewarded 10 more points for being active listeners in the classroom will be rewarded on Fun Friday:

K to 2: Movie on Friday, February 2
3 to 5: Movie or Activity or Friday, February 9
6 to 8: Move, Dance or Extra Recess on Friday, February 16

We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break! Here’s a look at some of the exciting things going on at Cook-Wissahickon in December:

Friday, 12/1: Science Fair
Friday, 12/1: LuLaRoe Fundraiser: The LuLaRoe bus will be in the schoolyard from 3:30-5:30pm  https://www.facebook.com/events/282737842247313/
Thursday, 12/7: Night of the Arts at CW from 6:00-7:00pm in the gymnasium. K-5 students will perform various songs, skits, dances and more, highlighting the wonderful arts programs. Kindergarten, first, and third grades will drum along to the music while keeping physically fit. First and second grade will perform a dance. Fourth grade will show off their robots and our fifth grade will perform an original snow skit. The show will conclude with a performance by the middle school bucket drumming ensemble and the little Trebles and Crescendos chorus. Doors open at 5:45 and students should report to the recess doors at that time for to sign in. Mr. D is requesting help from parents to assist with concessions, monitoring children in classrooms, and to serve as ushers. (Note: Parents who volunteer will be able to watch their child perform!) http://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050f45a8a72bab9-evening

At our annual fundraiser, students will have a chance to shop for gifts for their family and friends. The kids love this annual event, but to make it a success we need volunteers like you to help keep our shop running smoothly. You’ll work the cash registers and assist our students with purchasing items from their shopping lists. Thank you to anyone who is able to contribute their time!

iPraxis needs School Science Fair Judges!

Times: Morning Shift 8:15 AM -12 noon         Afternoon Shift 12 noon – 4 pm

A continental breakfast will be provided for morning judges and lunch will be provided for afternoon judges. Dress is business casual.  Please do wear a lab coat if you have one, or other uniform or accessory associated with your profession.

The Home & School Association is having a Pie Fundraiser (This fundraiser also supports SAUL high school where the pies are freshly baked by students!).

The Harvest Festival and More End-of-October Events

The 6th Annual Harvest Festival art fundraiser is Thursday, October 26 from 4-6pm in the cafeteria.

  • $10 for 50 tickets: Pre-register by returning your slip to your homeroom teacher or  Ms. Kimmel’s mailbox in the office. Student names, homerooms, and grades must be provided as well as amount of tickets with correct amount of money!
  • Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 for 40!
  • Tickets can be used for pumpkin(s) painting, light food and refreshments, a card-making craft station, and games and prizes.
